Postdoctoral Scientist
The MRC Virology Unit in Glasgow is seeking to appoint a postdoctoralscientist to join a team headed by Professor Roger Everett working onherpes simplex virus (HSV-I).
The main focus of the team’s research is on the regulation of HSV-I geneexpression during the early stages of lytic infection, with the aim ofunderstanding the interactions between the virus and its host cellduring lyric and latent infection. You will extend previous studies onthe role of the cellular PML protein and its associated factors in theregulation of HSV gene expression.
A PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject is essential.The appointment will be made until end of December 2009 at Band 4. Wealso offer excellent training, a generous holiday entitlement (6 weeks’annual leave and 10.5 days’ public holidays) and an excellent pension scheme.
