The Cancer Genomics Centre (CGC) is a consortium of investigators fromleading cancer research centres in the Netherlands that combineup-to-date expertise and facilities. The mission of the CGC is tostrengthen cancer genomics research in the Netherlands striving forbetter understanding of the cancer process so as to form a basis for thedevelopment of novel diagnostic and prognostic tools and the developmentof new therapeutic modalities. The CGC is one of the Centres ofExcellence of the Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI). Theparticipating institutes and groups are:
Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam http://www.nki.nl Anton Bernsand Maarten van Lohuizen: insertional mutagenesis in mice Laura van’tVeer and Sjoerd Rodenhuis: new diagnostics by genomic profiling RenéBernards: functional screens using siRNA libraries
Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam http://www.erasmusmc.nl JanHoeijmakers and Roland Kanaar: DNA repair processes Frank Grosveld andSjaak Philipsen: genomic profiling and insertional mutagenesis Jan Klijnand John Foekens: genomic profiling of breast and ovarian cancer

The Junior Group Leader positions are for scientists with at least threeyears postdoctoral experience and a proven track record of excellence.Applications for these positions should include a complete CV, threeletters of reference and a research proposal that is complementary tothe research performed within the context of the CGC programme asindicated above. Funding may include salary plus additional support fora period of five years.
The Postdoctoral Fellows and the PhD students will join one of theparticipating groups. Applications should include a complete CV andthree letters of reference or three contacts.
Only those persons who are invited for an interview will be notified.
