Post-doctoral Research Assistant
Full-time, for up to 1 year in the first instance

The Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology (ISMB ) is seeking a Post-doctoral Research Assistant to carry out computational analysis of complexes formed during Herpes Simplex Virus infection in the research group led by Dr Maya Topf. The project involves the development and application of computational methods for integrating diverse data, including from cryo-electron tomography and proteomics studies. The project is in collaboration with Dr. Kay Grünewald (The Division of Structural Biology, Oxford) and Dr. Adrian Shepherd (ISMB ). Applicants should have a PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computer Science or a related area, and relevant research publications. Research experience in computational biology and strong computer programming skills are required. Strong background and experience in large-scale data analysis is an advantage.

Salary: Grade 7. Starting salary of £33,966 (including London Allowance of £2,946 per annum).

This job is a full-time position, for one year in the first instance. The initial salary award will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period of six months.
