Structural Studies of Proteins in the Mitochondrial Nucleoid
The MRC Dunn Human Nutrition Unit (Director: Professor Sir John Walker)wishes to appoint a postdoctoral scientist to undertake research on thecrystallisation and structural analysis of newly discovered proteinsinvolved in mitochondrial DNA replication associated with the nucleoid.
You will have a PhD in an appropriate subject and background in proteinpurification and crystal growth, analysis of protein crystals andmolecular model building.
This is a three year training and development position for apost-doctoral scientist who has recently completed their PhD studies. Itprovides opportunities to develop research project skills and developcollaborative links with colleagues within the Medical Research Counciland elsewhere. The unit is housed within the Dunn Human Nutrition Unit,a world renowned centre for Bioenergetics research. Additionalinformation about the unit can be found at http://www.mrc-dunn.cam.ac.uk
We are offering a competitive remuneration package for the idealcandidate. Starting salary will be £24,993 per annum (pay awardpending), generous holiday entitlement (6 weeks annual leave and 10.5days public holidays) and an excellent pension scheme.
