Description
The Mediterranean Institute for Cognitive Neurosciences (INCM), inMarseille (France), offers a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship,starting in June 2008. The project is part of a collaborative researchprogramme funded by the French ANR (National Research Agency) whichbrings together experimental social psychology, brain imaging andbehavioural neurophysiology. The post-doctoral fellow will join the
“Neural dynamics and learning” team, whose research projects investigatethe neurophysiology of action within the context of neuronal plasticityduring learning.
The methods used are mainly those of behavioural neurophysiology inawake monkeys, including multiple electrode recording systems. Brainstructures of interest are the frontal cortex and basal ganglia. Thepost-doc fellow will be in charge of a research project designed to testhypotheses on the neuronal bases of skill acquisition, and will beresponsible for monkey training, neuronal recordings and data
analysis. A computational approach based on reinforcement learningtheory and advanced signal processing tools will assist the post-docfellow in her/his work. The candidate will have the opportunity tointeract with experts and students in social psychology, neuroimagingand computational modelling.
