Postdoctoral position in microRNA biology
The Biotech Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC) has a postdoctoralposition available in the group of Anders H. Lund. The position is for 3years and is scheduled to start in spring 2008.
Project description
The postdoc will join a group of 12 people working within the fields ofmicroRNAs and epigenetics, respectively. We are using severalbiochemical and microarray-based approaches to identify mRNA targets forcancer-related microRNAs. In addition, we have developed mouse microRNAknockouts and are interested in the composition and dynamics of theprotein complexes involved in mRNA target recognition. We are lookingfor a dedicated postdoc to implement, on a large scale, an affinitypurification method developed in the lab to experimentally identifymicroRNA targets (Ørom, Methods 43:162-5, Ørom et al., submitted).
BRIC is a research centre associated with the University of Copenhagen.We have excellent research facilities in modern laboratories and offergood working conditions with exciting possibilities in a young, dynamicand international research environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate holds a PhD in Life Sciences. Strong experiencein molecular and cellular biology is essential and previous experiencewith microarrays and bioinformatics an advantage. You have excellenttechnical skills and must be capable of productive self-directedresearch. The project is carried out in collaboration with other group members.
Terms of salary and employment
The appointment is limited to 3 years. The position is funded through acollaborative EU-FP7 project. Salary and other terms of employment willbe in accordance with the current agreement between the Ministry ofFinance and The Academics Central Organization.
