The Clinical Sciences Centre (CSC ) is an Institute funded by the MRC and is a Division of the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College. Based on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus in West London (W12), the CSC has first class facilities and provides investigators from clinical and basic science backgrounds with the opportunity to pursue innovative, multidisciplinary research within the established clinical base of Imperial College. A 3 year postdoctoral position is available at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre to work in the Cell Interactions and Cancer group headed by Dr. Simona Parrinello. The group investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms that control progenitor and stem cell biology in health and disease, with an emphasis on the role of the microenvironment. Current projects in the lab include: molecular and epigenetic mechanisms of dedifferentiation and reprogramming; role of sox2 in tissue regeneration; contribution of the microenvironment to reprogramming.

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow you must hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant biomedical discipline and have a strong background in molecular biology and/or epigenetics. Proven publication record, with at least one first author publication in a peer-reviewed international journal is essential, experience in mammalian primary tissue culture would be an advantage.

This post is a Career Development Fellowship to support post-doctoral scientists in early or changed career training and help establish them as successful research scientists in their chosen field.
