Description
A position for a postdoctoral fellow is open to individuals with a PhD,MD or DVM at the University of Alberta to study neurovirology andneuroimmunology with a focus on the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosisand HIV-associated neurological syndromes, using established in vitroand in vivo models for these diseases. The laboratory focuses on themolecular mechanisms of these diseases using state-of-the-arttechnologies and is comprised of individuals from around the world,thereby creating a highly interactive and exciting research environment.The University of Alberta is located in Edmonton, which hasapproximately 1 million people. The University of Alberta is ranked asone of the leading institutions outside of the USA to pursue apostdoctoral fellowship. The city offers numerous recreational, socialand cultural activities. Salary is commensurate with training andexperience. Expertise in electrophysiology (patch clamp) is particularly favored.
