A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. AdrieBruijnzeel in the McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida.The position is funded by a new NIDA grant. This research projectfocuses on investigating the role of brain stress systems (CRF andnorepinephrine) in the negative mood state associated with nicotinewithdrawal and stress-induced reinstatement of nicotine seeking behaviorin rats. The Bruijnzeel-lab is located in the McKnight Brain Institute(http://www.mbi.ufl.edu). The MBI houses state of the art researchfacilities and provides ample opportunities for collaborations.
This position requires a PhD in neuroscience, neuropharmacology, or aclosely related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong backgroundin drug abuse research or stress research. Preference will be given tocandidates with a track record of peer-reviewed publications, extensiveexperience with rat surgeries, behavioral testing, and basic histology.
