The Department of Genomics at the Life & Brain Center, University ofBonn, invites application for 1 postdoctoral position in Human Genetics.
The project is funded by the German Federal Ministery of Science (BMBF)and is embedded in an integrated genome research network (NGFNplus)aiming at the identification of genes contributing to the development ofpsychiatric disorders.
The postdoc will work on bipolar disorder. Gene identification in thiscommon neuropsychiatric disorder will be addressed in a largegenome-wide association study using high through-put technology. Theproject benefits from the integration of neuroimaging-, expression-, andprotein-protein interaction studies using state-of-the-art analytical methods.
We offer an excellent multidisciplinary team-oriented researchenvironment and opportunities. They are further enhanced by extensivecollaboration with the Institute for Medical Biometry, Informatics andEpidemiology (University of Bonn) and leading research institutes.
We are looking for a dedicated post-doctoral scientist (PhD), keen tointegrate knowledge in modern biology and genomic technologies in a highthrough-put molecular biology environment, and to pursue cutting edgeresearch. The position starts August 1 2008 (or later) and is for aperiod of 3 years (till May 31 2011) with the possibility of anextension for two additional years.
