Description

The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.SULEIMAN W BAHOUTH. A postdoctoral positions is available to study the gene regulation and molecular mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders. Research projects focus on studying the roles of activity-dependent expression of BDNF (Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor) in depression and anxiety, using genetically modified mice. We study from gene to behavior, using molecular and biochemical, electrophysiological, and behavioral techniques

Qualifications: Research background on neuropsychiatric disorders or depression and anxiety using molecular and biochemical, electrophysiological, or behavioral techniques. Doctorate in neuroscience or related discipline.

Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral fellows set by the state of Tennessee Department of Labor.
