Description:

We are offering two postdoctoral positions in the field of Genetics/Cancer Genetics, working together with Associate Professor Qiang Pan-Hammarström. The projects within the group focus on genetics of primary immunodeficiency diseases and molecular mechanism of immunoglobulin class switch recombination (CSR) and B cell lymphomagenesis.

The available postdoctoral positions deal with:
1). Identification of new form of primary immunodeficiency due to DNA repair defects; the functional characterization of CSR and SHM in patients with defects in DNA repair/recombination;
2). Address the question if illegitimate CSR events are associated with predisposition to lymphomagensis in patients with immunodeficiency/DNA repair defects, by analyzing the CSR induced chromosomal breaks and translocations in these patients.
3). Characterization of DNA repair genes in large set of germinal center-derived lymphoma samples using the next generation sequencing platforms.

Responsibilities:
The applicant is expected to be a talented and enthusiastic researcher and he or she is expected to play a leading role in experimental design, experimentation, and presentation/publication of results. The candidate must be able to work within a team environment.

Required qualifications:
The candidate must have:
1. A doctoral degree in the fields of genetics, cancer genetics, or bioinformatics
2. Demonstrated abilities in experiment design and interpretation
3. Demonstrated communication skills; Proficient in English language
4. The ideal candidates will have extensive training in genetics or cancer genetics or bioinformatics. Extensive experience with handling large-scale, next generation sequencing data is an advantage.

Start date, term and evaluation:
Positions to start as soon as possible and will remain open until filled. The appointment will be for up to two years with further renewal being dependent on availability of funds.
