Applications are invited to work on a one-year NIHR-funded project onnovel ceramic/metal composites for load-bearing bone fracture fixationapplication. The work will be based in the Department of Oral and DentalScience and in collaboration with other engineering departments andbiology groups.
You will be involved in the development of novel fabricationmethodologies for the production of new ceramic/metal composites andcharacterisation of their mechanical properties and biodegradability.You should have a PhD in materials, or chemical or biomedicalengineering, particularly in the area of ceramics and compositesprocessing. Experience in biological
evaluation of materials is desirable. Knowledge of orthopaedic surgeryand materials modelling will be advantageous. This post is available immediately.
