Description
A postdoc position is available in the group of Dr. Marie-Louise Bang atthe Istituto Tecnologie Biomediche (ITB), Consiglio Nazionale delleRicerche (CNR), Milan. The laboratory focuses on studying functionalroles of sarcomeric and cytoskeletal proteins in cardiac and skeletalmuscle development, function, and disease by utilizing geneticallyengineered mouse models and a range of molecular, biochemical, and cellbiological techniques.
The lab is part of a newly established and well-equipped laboratory(directed by Prof. Gianluigi Condorelli) at the ITB-CNR and works inclose collaboration with the Multimedica Hospital, a center ofexcellence for cardiovascular medicine recognized by the ItalianMinister of Health. The ITB-CNR is located at the Advanced TechnologyInterdisciplinary Laboratories building (LITA) in close vicinity to theSan Raffaele research center and Milan University.
Experience in skeletal and/or cardiac muscle biology and a strongbackground in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry isrequired. Experience with mouse models is preferred, but not arequirement. Successful candidates should be highly motivated, displayinitiative and independence, and have good verbal and written Englishand Italian communication skills. Salary will be based on experience.
