Description:
The Department of Health Studies at the University of Chicago seeks candidates for one fully-funded postdoctoral fellow/scholar position in the area of Cancer and Genetic Epidemiology.
Applicants should have a
——doctoral degree in epidemiology or an MD with training in quantitative research (e.g., Master’s degree in epidemiology or biostatistics).
——Successful candidate is expected to work on two genetic epidemiologic studies investigating genetic susceptibility, environmental exposures, and gene-environment interaction of breast cancer among women of African ancestry.
——The fellow/scholar will have an active role in ongoing studies, including opportunities for data collection experience, to analyze existing epidemiologic and genomic data, and/or develop grant proposals.
——The fellow/scholar will also have the opportunity to work on a genome-wide association study of breast cancer. Excellent analytical and writing skills are desirable.

We provide state-of-the-art research resources encompassing a large number of faculties involved in epidemiological, molecular, and statistical aspects of genomic and gene-environment research. Also included is access to high throughput genomic facilities and related biostatistical/bioinformatics support, and clinical data/biospecimen repositories from multiethnic populations.
